Horrible Experience! I have ordered take out from Hunan Lion on several occasions. I enjoy the food but there have been way too many mistakes and NO effort to correct them. They have brought me the wrong order, taken two hours to show up with the food and today was the final mistake. They did not give me my spring rolls. I called immediately after the driver left and I was told he would be back with my spring rolls. That was completely false. They took down my phone number and never called. Completely ripped me off and didn't even follow up. This entire time I have tipped the driver really well because I have worked in the food industry. This is sloppy business. I will be giving 1 star on yelp.

This is the Chinese food I've been looking for in Austin! I've lived in several major cities, and I've gotta say they make the best General Tso's Chicken I've ever had...better than my favorite spots in New York!

The Food is Great!!Its under New management now. The food before wasn't so good. I love going there its close to my work place. If I place a phone order my food is ready in 10 minutes. The only thing is when I order a Lunch special which runs about 6.75 and up It comes with fried rich or steam rice. The fried rice tasted like it was already been prepared hours ago wasn't fresh at all.. If I order a full plate dinner like a combination pork, chicken and shrimp fried rice for 8.50 plus tax ...its always Hot & fresh . It would be great to get fresh fried rice even though its a lunch special .

First, the best experience we had was the waiter. He was outstanding and was there every time we needed anything. He was also funny with a good sense of humor and made our dinner pleasant.I am sorry that I did not like my food. I had Peking duck. It was overcooked and came out dry and quite overcooked. It was mostly without taste. The portions were some of the smallest that I remember at a Chinese restaurant. I was given fried rice with my duck at no extra charge. Also shared a pupu platter which was diminutive, compared to what I would expect. My friend had orange chicken. It was good but did not have much ginger and the orange was overcooked. The rest of it was all right. The prices did not reflect the small portions that were received. We had to buy food elsewhere, to keep from being hungry in an hour.

OK, I'm not sure how this place does not have better reviews. My husband and I just found this after eating all over S.Austin, and after 5 years of eating on this side of town this is easily the best. You pay about 2 bucks more than most at dinner but its worth it.The service is 6 out of 5 stars-all the staff is super nice and fast.Atmosphere is 5 out of 5Cleanliness is 5 out of 5Food is 5 out of 5I am very picky about my moo shu and this was fantastic. They rolled me 4 at the table and the sauce was perfect and unlike most, the pancakes did not break. My husband got the lemon chicken and said it was the perfect crispness and flavor.I will never eat at another as long as am on this side of town and if I move I might drive it.Highly recommend !!!

I like this Chinese place. Notice I said LIKE, not LOVE. I still have not found an Austin successor to Chef Jia's in San Francisco. Austin is simply not an Asian food town, I have discovered to my great despair. So I make do.My ex-husband and I used to come here in the 90s for the sesame chicken, which was EXCELLENT -- the perfect blend of crispy and spicy. I ordered it again after I moved back to ATX after a 15 year absence, and apparently, the place is under different ownership. It was alright, but not worth repeating. However, they have a great lunch and dinner special. I live in the neighbourhood, so it's nice to bop down and get an early dinner for less than $10 (with tea). And they give me enough food that I have leftovers for a second meal. I usually order the Moo Goo Gai Pan, because I like a lot of veggies. It's pretty good, as are the wonton and hot and sour soups. Recently tried the Kung Pao Chicken, and it was fine but I would have liked some veggies in it, not just chicken and peanuts.I've always had good service, and the food is dependable enough that coupled with the convenient location and good prices, I'll come back until I find something better. But I'm sad they don't have that amazing sesame chicken anymore ;(
